Colour Documentations
There is a certain shade of red.. that whenever I see it, it transports me back to my childhood and my favourite red velvet dress.
While researching Alzheimers Disease I discovered that losing certain colours is a symptom of this illness, and this got me thinking about the relationship between memory and colour. For this project, I revisited my childhood activities and investigated the colours that brought these memories back to life.
Using images and found objects such as shells, sand, pebbles and seaweed, I mixed the exact colour in acrylic paint. On finding the exact colour, I placed a sample of it on graph paper to document it.
